Good Battery, Bad service March 15, 2008 Anthony Zamparelli (Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey United States) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is a great battery, however the people at Amazon were giving me much trouble for something that was their own fault. Either way, the battery is with me, although it arrived in a broken box!
Also, This battery DOES fit the Subaru WRX, this is the correct battery (8020-164), although all the other information on this page is incorrect (which I found out after talking with Optima themself)
Got mine locally due to shipping issues... March 29, 2009 T. Smith (California) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Because of the issues in the reviews of people getting damaged batteries that neither the shipper, Amazon, or Optima would take care of, I decided to get mine locally. It was about $15 more at Costco than at Amazon but I got it right away and didn't have to worry about any shipping damage. I have terrible luck in getting defective things so I didn't want to risk shipping a 40 pound box around and nobody wanting to pay for it.
My starter now turns over much faster than before. The battery also looks pretty cool under the hood. The red color naturally will make the car go faster too! ; )

No one else could come close to shipping almost 40 pounds for this price. Great product from a great service!
No problems here October 10, 2008 J. Fuller (Kansas City) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was a little weary of buying this online with the other reviews of broken boxes/batteries. I went ahead and ordered it anyway, knowing that Amazon will not accept returns on this item (if the box is damaged, it's the delivery company's fault anyways).
I got my battery through UPS today, and it looks perfect. The box had it's usual wear, it did travel from KY to KS, but no problems at all.
It was exactly what I wanted, for cheaper than anywhere local could get for me.

Excellent battery! Smaller than stock and more CCA's. Nothing negative to say about an Optima. Both my vehicles have the red top and I am very pleased with the performance of these batteries.
