The kit lets you attach up to a 3.5-horsepower motor to the rear of your Intex boat, so you can rest your paddling arms and float in comfort. The mount--which is made of marine plywood with aluminum support arms--attaches and detaches easily, so you don't have to spend a half hour fussing with the components each time you want to use the motor. Plus, the mount disassembles quickly when you return back home for easy storage in your garage or closet. One thing I like about this mount, you don't need any tools to put it on the boat. It uses bolts with sturdy thumb type screws and your done. Also, can't go wrong with good solid marine plywood. In the end, its a motor mount and it does what it is designed to do for the intex boats. Holds that little Minn Kota Endura 30 really good. The mount can accept a 3.5hp but on the Excursion boats you can only put up to a 1.5hp or up to 18 lbs motor weight. If you want to go to a 3.5 you will need to get a Sea Hawk II or Mariner boat.

Great product, but... June 21, 2010

I bought this product and it was shipped/received in 2 days...great!!! I ordered a small Island Hopper motor from Florida...no problem with the seller. However, stupid _ss UPS placed the motor on my porch along with items I had sitting out for Salvation Army with a note on it. Unfortunately, the motor went missing for days before I tracked it down. To sum it up, I have not had the opportunity to use this product, but it is very well built and practical. I would buy again if needed/wanted.

extremely simple to attach to the boat (I attached it to my intex excursion 5 boat). I attached a minn kota Endura 30 to it with no problem. Highly recommended. Amazon.com has the best price on this mount.

I just received my mount today and I have to admit that its perfect. Easy to set up. But only one flaw, there is a real strong odor or maple or pine. Other then that it is a well built mount. Will let every one know later if it fits a Inflatable Challenger 3 with a 40 thrust motor in a comment on this review some time next week.
