| Customer Reviews: Wish I could give it more than 5 stars! August 20, 2010 gunsmithguy This Multi-Plier is simply the best and most used tool I own. My tools consist of about 90% Snap-On tools and this is just as high quality as anything I own, and I own alot (I'm an aircraft mechanic). This tool is on my belt EVERY SINGLE DAY! It comes in handy so often I can not leave home without it!
First, the black coating does leave a residue on your hands the first few uses. The finish does NOT flake off at all or wear down even after years of abuse, tough finish in my book! If you have a problem with the residue on your hands during its break in period, you probably should not even be touching tools in the first place. Or.... WASH YOUR HANDS!!!
Second, the flick to open does need to break in for it to achieve its smoothest operation, as with anything. It's one handed operation is much, much, more convenient than using two hands (obviously). It does take a couple of uses to get use to it, but once you do its great.
Third, it has 3 sided carbide wire strippers/ cutters which means, if one side gets dull simply unscrew and rotate for a fresh blade (not all are found with this option).
I don't often write reviews but I could not read the others bad mouthing this fantastic tool without giving an opinion from someone who has used this tool for many years. I would even pay double the price for this multi-plier, its that good! I can't rave enough about this tool, its that good! Buy this (or the diesel) you won't regret it!!!
Strong and useful but be careful! May 12, 2009 Robert Bell 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I love the "black" style of the tool. Makes me more careful with it as I don't want to scratch the "Stealth" off of it.
Overall it is as useful than the previous ones I've owned. It is and can be dangerous when it comes to the "Scalpel" it has instead of scissors. You can cut yourself to the bone if not careful (any law suits yet?)...
I have it for use in the fire department and it is very helpful at accident scenes.
Very good Tooll August 24, 2010 tuhno The gerber 07520G Multi-plier 600 Blunt Nose is a very good tool to work and is always handy in moment wen you are not carring you're tool box.
I also add to the kit a magnesium survival firestarter just in case off emergency you never know. it is better to be prepare : )
gerber tool March 5, 2010 Philip Kohler 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had a similar tool to this about 15 years ago. also a Gerber, it was 2/3 the size of this tool. In fact, when I received this tool I was surprised at just how large it was (no, it's not tremendous) compared to the one I used to own.
The black coating did a very good job of dying my hands when I first used it, too. I havent used it a second time yet but, I'm expectin that this will likely happen a few times. To be honest, I don't really see any sense in it being dyed black.
The tool itself is strong and well built. The lock mechanisms seem reasonably built and secure
Does not come close to the original SOG Power Plier. April 6, 2010 mr.hound (long beach,ca usa) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
If you are tired of searching for the SOG Power Plier with the blunt (full nose) plier the Gerber blunt nose multi-plier is not the answer. Its one handed opening is a joke, and it cannot compare to any of the SOG multi tools. The SOG version of a blunt nose plier, in my opinion, was perfect, but for some reason the manufacture discontinued this model. If you are dead set on a blunt nose multi tool I suggest buying a SOG, even though the plier is needle nose, and carry a traditional plier in your back pocket. You will save yourself about $50 and the disappointment you will have with this Gerber product. You might want to wait for the release of the SOG Tool Clip, but I still do not feel that it can compare to the full nose SOG Power Plier. Hope this helps.
